Rep. Bryan Cutler & Commissioners Lehman & Stuckey

It’s been a very busy and interesting couple of weeks.

I can’t say Commissioner Stuckey was overjoyed to see us, but he is a Conservative and quickly and easily agreed that we have a 10th Amendment right being denied us that we have a right to see restored.  He’s a good man and very likeable, and he’ll certainly be with us when the time comes.

Rep. Bryan Cutler is an amazing, Conservative Constitutionalist.  That meeting was as good as the one with County Commissioner Scott Martin.

Rep. Cutler proved himself in the PA House and quickly rose to become the Majority Whip.  He is smart, young, and clear headed.  He knew exactly why we were there, and he said he was excited and definitely with us.

Thank God for men like him and Scott Martin.

The original mission of OurRepublic was to identify those among our public servants that swore an oath to the Constitution that actually meant it or that even understood the document that they publicly and willingly swore to obey and defend.

As the people to whom that oath was sworn, we are getting to know our allies and our enemies.

We were told that it was highly unlikely that Co. Comm. Lehman would ever return our call.  Since he is a Democrat I wasn’t surprised to hear that, but I couldn’t imagine him just refusing to meet with us.

It must have occurred to him how that would look as well, because Monday he called me.  He offered a fifteen minute phone meeting, so I jumped on it.

It was everything you would expect.

He believes that the genius of our country is that we have a government that can change.

Make sure that you understand what he said:  He believes the genius of the United States of America is that we can make laws.

I explained that the entire history of the world has been full of tyrants, kings, emperors, thugs, and dictators.  The genius of the U.S. Articles of Confederation and of the Constitution is that it turned the power structure upside down and placed us at the top.  Our government exists solely to preserve our freedom and not their power.

He of course ignored that point and every subsequent argument that I made for freedom and a federal government restrained by the Constitution.

He read a book recently about how Madison, Jay, Washington, and Hamilton never intended for us to have a Constitutionally limited government… which is mostly insane except for Hamilton.

I repeatedly informed him that he did not swear an oath to what some guys opinion is of what he thinks Madison “intended,” but to us to obey the actual Constitution.  He was unfazed.

His commitment to his party and their power is absolute.

I wish Liberals were as passionate about the Constitution and liberty.  That includes Leftist, crony-capitalists like Boehner and McConnell and the rest if their ilk that have R’s after their names.

When I told him that it was clear we were not going to agree and that we would both just have to proceed accordingly, he said that he thought that sounded aggressive or militant or something and that it made us out to be enemies.  I told him we are enemies, and that we are going to proceed as if the Constitution means what it says and that the burden will be upon them to prove otherwise.

The Left wants to destroy everything we have built and all that we hold dear, and they do not want us to get angry about it.

They want to confiscate our property and force us to fund our own destruction.  They want to infiltrate the system that we created to keep us free and use it to enslave us.

While they do all of this they do not want us to identify and label them for what they are, and they certainly do not want us to engage them with a proportional response.

For some twisted, unfathomable reason we have been obliging them.

No longer.

We’ll be calling this week to setup appointments with the last few representatives here in a Lancaster County.  A couple have small parts of Lancaster County in their districts but the majority in our neighboring counties.

Berks County was ground zero for the property tax fight, so Rep. Zimmerman was very helpful in strongly recommending that we meet with them.

I’ll try to make them later in the day so that it is easier for people to make the meetings.  Later means we are more likely to have them canceled or moved to another day, but we’ll see how it goes.

If you can make those, please do so.

Also, thanks for all of the encouraging emails.  They are more helpful than I have words to describe.  If I get busy and don’t email back or it takes awhile, please forgive me, it is only a reflection of my schedule and not of my gratitude.
